How to Change the Oil

9. Screw the new oil filter onto the oil filter housing until it is snug. Do not overtighten.
10. Add 5 quarts of new oil to the oil filler hole on the top of the engine.
11. Use the dipstick to check the oil level. The oil level should be between the full and add marks on the dipstick.
12. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
13. Turn off the engine and check for leaks.
